The Roughan Chiropractic Team
Meet Olivia, Business Manager

People are often shocked that I have not had antibiotics, painkillers or vaccinations and yet I have not been to a medical doctor or been under hospital care. I am extremely grateful for my natural health upbringing and would love to see the sickness paradigm that most people are accustomed to some day change to a wellness system. We all deserve to maintain optimal health instead of waiting for symptoms on feeling sick as a reason to take painkillers and “hope it maybe goes away” – there’s such a better way to live! With medicine these days we are living longer than our ancestors but we are definitely not living healthier.
“If I had known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself” – Eubie Blake on his 100th birthday.
I love managing Roughan Chiropractic, and our large NaturalMed Dispensary, and hearing the most incredible stories from our patients and practice members about how chiropractic has changed their lifes for the better. Often we see people who have been struggling with their health for years and come to us after hearing from a friend or a work colleague the benefits they have achieved since coming to Roughan Chiropractic. Our most common feedback is "I wish I had known about this place sooner!"
You'll normally spot me in the practice running around doing a hundred things at once but I am always happy to talk with our patients and practice members and hear everybody's individual stories. I can always be found at our monthly Health Care Classes which are held on the first Thursday of every month taking notes and assisting our chiropractors. Although I have had the privilege of chiropractic care and applied kinesiology my entire life, every single day I learn something new, and it is always exciting.
Olivia is currently on maternity leave, for all enquiries please contact our Assistant Manager, Natascha.
Meet Katie, NaturalMed Dispensary Assistant

My first contact at Roughan Chiropractic was as a patient. I was referred here after having an ongoing sports injury which was not improving after six months of frustrating treatment. I noticed a significant difference after my first adjustment. I was elated with the continuous progress I made while seeing one of the skilled practitioners here.
Seeing firsthand the wonderful work the Doctors of Chiropractic do here I jumped at the chance to become part of the team here at Roughan Chiropractic.
As a (rare and unique) Blood Type AB I am more than happy to help those who need support in 'Eating Right For Your Type' or basic nutrition recommendations. Being the Hemaview (Live Blood Analysis) and VLA (Bioimpedance Analysis) technician at our practice allows me to spend time with our patients who like to monitor their health, whether they are looking to lose fat, train for a sport event, or would just like to know how their body is coping with their current lifestyle. I am very passionate about 'Eating Right For Your Type' and have performed the simple blood type test on patients from 8 days old to 88 years old. No matter where we are in our lives, living to the best of our ability is so important.
I am currently studying at the University of Canterbury towards a Psychology degree with an interest in Child Development. I love seeing our patients get the same successful results I did. The opportunity to work here was significant for me as I look forward to integrating natural medicine later on in my studies.
Meet Cherita, Chiropractic Assistant

I am the front desk Chiropractic Assistant who you will always find at Roughan Chiropractic on a Saturday. I am now also at the practice during the week and help out at the front desk and NaturalMed Dispensary.
Although I am still learning the chiropractic way of total health and wellbeing, I love what I know so far! The dedicated team here is so enthusiastic about health, it is simply contagious! Hope to see you all here on your own path to well being and health.
Meet Cushla, Chiropractic Assistant
As the youngest ‘Roughan’ in the family, chiropractic care and valuing my health has always been a huge aspect of my everyday life, especially with the heavy demands of practising ballet and other forms of dance. With all the routines I need to do for ballet it is so important that my spine is regularly checked so I can really stretch my body to the limit.
People often ask me if I will “become a chiropractor and follow the rest of the family” but as I find Arts and Culture really interesting I would like to go to Auckland university next year to receive a diploma in Performance Arts and then go travelling around Europe. I recently returned from an 12 month AFS school exchange in the french speaking area of Switzerland and I fell in love with travel.
I look forward to meeting all of you who come to Roughan Chiropractic and assisting you on your health journey.
