Meet Dr Trista Spolarich, Chiropractor

I always intuitively knew that a career in the natural health field would be the perfect fit for me. After growing up in a town of 120 people and developing a strong, Curious George-like desire to travel and explore the world, I made a commitment to myself to do just that. Upon completing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, USA with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. It was wanderlust that fortuitously led me to Roughan Chiropractic clinic in Christchurch in 2010. The knowledge gained while working under the talented Dr. Simon Roughan literally changed my life and understanding of the capabilities of the human body. It fueled my desire to explore and continue to learn a variety of different healing techniques from around the globe. Primarily influenced by teachings from Aotearoa, Holland, Thailand, and experience gained while working on an array of world-traveling luxury yachts, as well as owning my own practice for nearly 10 years, the integrated therapy that I practice was born. This technique is a unique, therapeutic blend of sports and deep tissue massage, Thai massage, Chiropractic care, myofascial work, assisted stretching therapy, self-care techniques, body talk therapy, ancestral and holistic nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations like practicing ketosis and fasting to promote healthy living.
Session range from 15-90 minutes, depending on individual needs, and focus on addressing skeletal, fascial, and muscle compensation patterns that have developed within the body. It’s worth noting that this is both an active and a passive therapy, which means that we will be working together to decrease muscle tension, increase joint mobility, and improve balance, strength, flexibility, and alignment within the body. Simply stated, it is less of a “me” and more of a “we” activity.
Just as I had always intuitively known I wanted to pursue a career in natural health, I also knew I wanted to move back to this beautiful country and establish deep roots with my family. I feel very blessed to say that that day has finally come. It’s a full circle moment for me, and I look forward to sharing it all with you. Because in my opinion, life is about thriving, rather than just merely surviving – so let’s thrive together!
Outside of practising chiropractic, you can find me learning a new technique, cooking, practising yoga, reading, travelling, or exploring nature with my husband and two young boys.
